sat in section 241 last row, opposite end of arena from stage, was not disappointed at all. i guess being so far away all the talk of feed back and stuff was lost in my total happiness that vh is back and " kicked ass in east rutherford new jersey." from the opening song to michaels solo to the new stuff, alexs solo, even sammys solo was ok. the mix of vh pre sammy and with was ok, still have not attend a show where little guitars was played though. eddies solo was so enjoyable, never thought i would see that live again and thanks to the 3 large screens it was enjoyed by eyes and ears. i can not believe his son is that old, lol, old yeah right! looks more like his mom, lucky kid! i hope they can get it together for a fall tour, i know nyc would love to have them back!

Subject: NJ LOVES VH

Both radio stations here in the tri-state area were giving VH the BIG thumbs up today!!! Their reviews are that VH is better than ever before... that they are emotionally attached to each other and to there fans. There was tears in Eddie`s eyes along with their fans.

Everyone in Jersey has a big ass SMILE on their face today!!!!

Seeing the band now several shows in from the first, I have to say the boys are still on top of the game even more so than before...they definately rocked the Meadowlands!!! Lots of tailgaiters, more VH fans, than Sammy but I saw a few Cabo shirts here and there. The setlist was the same as Greensboro....Sammy did both Eagles Fly and Deeper Kind of Love. One thing different was Wolfie came out and played which was cool!! Eddie seemed to be rushing his solos some, starting just ahead of beat or not in time, but he still sounded awesome!! During his solo, I think everyone in the building was chanting EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE, then it died down and they started again with a standing ovation. The crowd was REALLY into Eddie more so then the G'boro show. Eddie wore his hair down for a few songs and then he put it up in the Pebbles do. Mikey was grinning from ear to ear all night long.....his back up vocals were kick ass!! Alex definately kept the groove and ....then there was Sammy!!! Sammy wore his gold RedRocker shirt and his gold pants (the same ones that kept falling down in G'boro) however, he wore a belt tonight so no sneak previews...but he still kept messin with that zipper!! Get some new pants Sammy! He did not wear his sunglasses most of the night...oh yea Sam, lets see those big brown eyes!!!! At one point, he pulled his hair back in a pony tail so his hair is getting longer ladies!!! Near the end of the show, Sammy and Eddie are sitting on the drum riser and Sammy is tugging at Eddie's hair saying something about give me some scissors and I'll cut that off and Eddie says I'll shave you...and Sammy references his crotch area and mentions he's already shaved down there!!! Well alright Sammy!!! It was a funny moment!

All in all in was a great show...I ended up in the very back to take all of the show in....the sound was a little muddy at times but I didn't find them to be extremely loud...I'm sure I wouldnt say that if I had been closer! Got tickets again for tonight....should see some different tunes in the setlist!! Time to recoup for tonight!

"Awesome, awesome show...the band was not really tight but Alex held them together for the most part. Eddie's timing is still a little off (playing too fast in some solos, too slow in others) but he always managed to make it back to the beat in the end.

Eddie was all over the place in his solo...played part of "Little Guitars" at one point, but way too distorted. "Cathedral" was the touchstone, he kept bouncing away from it and coming back later.

Did anybody else catch Sammy quoting "Rock Candy" during one of the songs? "You're rock candy baby...hot, sweet and sticky..." Kinda cool to have a little Montrose moment in the show.

Overall, the guys look like they're having an excellent time onstage. As mentioned, Eddie seemed emotionally overwhelmed at times with the reception he got...he made a lot of thankful comments on the mic and gestured appreciatively at the crowd a lot.

Word to the wise...this show is LOUD, bordering on feedback a lot of the time. Sammy's mic was especially trebly and fed back quite a bit. My ears are ringing and there is an audible "hiss" right now. Definitely regretting not bringing the earplugs.

"Right Now" was a surprisingly emotional song for me for some reason. The changes they made to the video were very appropriate...I won't get into what they said. I found myself getting a little teary at times, though. And for those who thought "When it's Love" was a lame closer, I was with you before I saw the show, but now I've changed my mind. They played it with a ton of emotion and power, and the crowd was totally into it.

To sum up...AMAZING. The crowd was great, the tailgating folks were totally cool, and the show rocked despite a few rough spots. If I can get cheap tickets for tomorrow night, I'm going back"

"I just got home from the show. I did the 5 star ticket. I am only going to cover somethings that are different. For the soundcheck it was EVH just by himself for the forst 15 minutes or so waiting for everybody else. He was cracking jokes and just noodling around on the guitar. We sal Val and Wolfie. Wolfie was just walking around stage and then climbed up to the mine screen and was trying to get his fathers attention. It was awesome. Then AVH came on stage followed by MA. The songs were typical as reported before but when the started playing Jump SH came on stage and right when the guitar solo was coming up SH steped on Eddie's guitar cord and f'ed it up. They stopped so Eddie could fix the situation. So Alex stepped out from behind the drums and started signing away. MA followed on the other side. I got Alex's sig on my 5 star shirt.

I saw the Hershey concert last week and all I have to say they improved dramatically in the past 10 days. THEY ARE BACK! I was in the 3rd row center stage for the concert. Eddie's solo was great Wolfie joined him. Right before Wolfie joined him people were just doing the EDDIE chant and EVH was visably tearing. He totally appreciates the moment.

We off to try to sleep with the ringing in my ears!"
